In the February 2002 there crushed unusual sandstone pillar, which was located in Cesis district, at the bank of Amata river below Karli hydropower plant. This pillar was remnant of the former sandstone arch over Amata river - this arch formed in 1978 and existed for several years. In 1999 this pillar was 3,5 - 4 m high, but its base was only 1 m wide.
