There were three ancient, enormous oaks growing at Gauja River near Valmiera town at the beginning of 20th century. Only 7 people could embrace the largest of them. Unfortunately two oaks have died because somebody set fire in their large hollows - one was burned in 1926 by jealous neighbour who did not get this land. Just one oak remains today.
