This cave was one of the longest and otherwise most impressive ones in Latvia, it was located in Cesis town. It was shapend mostly by humans, taking the sand for different needs. The ceiling of Vinterala cave was high enough to walk whole 40 m long cave without leaning over (very rare for Latvian caves). Over the time the cave collapsed section by section. In 1990 the entrance of the cave collapsed - but part of the passages most likely still are there.
